469.5-meter-high Mount Kannabe (an inactive volcano).
The area is also a part of the San'in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, one of Japan's national geoparks.

Trek to the heart of an ancient volcano!
Circle the volcano crater
Hike up, around and back down Kansai’s youngest, and extinct, volcano.
Difficulty Level:
Steep inclines in some areas. Overall easy hike for beginners and kids.
Hike time: about 1.5 hours

Kannabekogen Rest Area
The Kannabekogen Rest Area is your meeting point towards adventure equipped with a hot spring, restaurant, and a bus stop right next to Mount Kannabe.

Crisp and slightly sweet Kannabe watermelon, grown in the local volcanic ash soil with abundant sunlight and cool nights.

Naturally sweet apples. Apple cider made with these apples is also recommended.
Toyooka Grapes (Aug–Oct)
Juicy and refreshing grapes, including Pione, Delaware, Berry A, and Shine Muscat.

- From Ebara Station take the ZENTAN BUS headed for Kannabe Kougen (Kannabe Highlands)
- Ride the bus for about 25 to 35 minutes. Get off at the bus stop “KANNABE ONSEN YUTOROGI MAE” for UP KANNABE or the bus stop “YAMATA” for OKU KANNABE

You can us JR KANSAI WIDE AREA PASS to reach JR Ebara Station.
