Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese dance that is often performed during Obon to honor ancestors who have passed away.
Obon is a special time from August 13 to 16 where families in Japan gather together and honor their ancestors who have passed into the afterlife.
In Kinosaki Onsen and Izushi Castle Town, locals and visitors partake in the Bon Odori, or Bon Dance.
The small festival includes decorations such as lanterns to guide the deceased back to the mortal world for the holiday, and a dance to welcome them home.
