Under the guidance of a professional kintsugi artisan, revive broken pottery into a beautifully imperfect artpiece.

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese repair method incorporating the use of metals such as gold and silver to mend the cracks of broken items.

The technique has been in practice since the 1300s and focuses on finding beauty in imperfections.

In this workshop, you are invited to experience kintsugi for yourself, mending the broken into something beautiful.

While the centuries-old kintsugi techniques usually take over two months to fully complete one project, a professional artisan will guide you through a simplified, food-safe kintsugi method while still maintaining the timeless elegance of its predecessor.

You can take home the 2 pieces you made with you as a memory of your time finding peace in this relaxing activity.

Children are also welcome to participate since there is no complicated work involved, but they may need to be assisted by their parents/guardian.

Materials used include sea glass from the nearby Takeno Beach and broken ceramics. These choptsick holders can also be used as pen holders and holders for forks, spoons, and knives.
