Volcanic Rock Trekking in the Kannabe Highlands

Walk along the old lava flow formed from an explosion of the nearby volcano long ago. The flow cut through
the valley and is responsible for the various and beautiful waterfalls hidden along the trail.
There are more than 30 places of interest along the hike. Walking shoes with
ankle support and good traction are recommended. Part of the course will be slippery and over rough and uneven terrain.

Mount Kannabe is one of the Kansai Region’s youngest volcanoes, currently inactive. Stroll up to the top via a gently winding path around the mountain or trek straight up the slanted mountainside for a more advanced hike.
Enjoy the view over the crater and out onto the mountain ranges of the Kannabe Highlands, part of the UNESCO San'in Kaigan Global Geopark.
