Takeno, a local fisherman's town just one train stop from Kinosaki Onsen, is rich with the natural bounty of fresh Japanese seafood caught daily.

At Yashio, a reservation-only restaurant in Takeno, savor the clean, natural flavors of locally sourced seafood and vegetables, crafted under the expert guidance of the owners.

The dedicated chef at Yashio personally visits the fish port for selection, focusing on meticulous preparation before cooking. In our workshop, learn techniques such as removing blood to enhance the flavor of the fish. Guests will make sushi using freshly prepared fish by themselves and specially aged fish by the chef. After the workshop, enjoy your own sushi creations alongside the chef's, paired with a sake tasting, or tea tasting if you prefer.

Make your own sushi

Learn from a master how to slice up a fish and make authentic sushi using only the freshest fish caught directly from the nearby sea.

An accompanying English guide will be your personal interpreter during the private lesson.

After your private lesson, savor the fruits of your labor with a dinner homemade by Yashio's staff, and also your handmade sushi!

Along with your sushi, ingredients gracing your plate will include locally sourced vegetables, fish, and soup.

A sake or tea tasting is also provided.

・Free transfer service available from/to Takeno Train Station, please request at booking.

・Alcohol/drinks not described are not included in the plans. Please pay for drinks on the day of reservation with either cash or credit card (Visa/Mastercard(R)/JCB/American Express/Diners Club/Discover)

・Underage guests will substitute sake tasting for tea tasting.

・Seafood varieties will change depending on the catch purchased directly from the fisherman's cooperative. Other ingredients are locally produced and in season.

・If you are late, your activity may be cancelled.

・Concession for children (aged 6-12): JPY 8,000 off the adult price with a kid's meal; breakfast is the same as an adult's. Please consult us for children under 5.
