Izushi is a castle town popular for its nostalgic atmosphere of old Japan. The town has many interesting attractions, including the Izushi Castle Ruins, Samurai House Karoyashiki, and Eirakukan Kabuki Theater. There are also many local specialties such as Izushi Pottery, Yanagi-gori (willow craft), and Izushi Sara Soba noodles.

Each guest will receive 1 Must-Visits Pass. Valid for entry at the following locations:

Go first to Samurai House Karoyashiki. Show your Must-Visits Pass to the staff for entry and to receive 3 "Eiraku" Soba Coins
1 coin can be used at 1 soba noodle restaurant in town. Each coin will give you three plates of soba at 1 restaurant.
*Samurai House Karoyashiki is closed on Wednesdays. If you are picking up your Must-Visits Pass on a Wednesday, you will receive your 3 "Eiraku" Soba Coins upon pass pickup at SOZORO Tourist Information Center, 96 Kinosakicho Yushima, Toyooka, Hyogo 669-6101.

Soba noodles in Japan are usually served in a large dish, but Izushi soba is traditionally served on 5 small plates for a single serving.
There are over 30 soba noodle shops in Izushi that showcase this interesting serving method.

Samurai House Karoyashiki (closed Wednesdays)
This home was the former residence of a high-ranking samurai living in Izushi long ago.
It now holds many samurai artifacts, and from the outside, it looks like a one-story building.
But once you step inside, you will discover a two-story building full of secrets to deceive enemy spies!

Eirakukan Kabuki Theater (closed Thursdays)
Eirakukan Kabuki Theater is the oldest working kabuki theater in the Kansai region.
A visit to Eirakukan Kabuki Theater will put you on, behind, and under the stage, all rare and fantastic experiences to feel like a real kabuki actor and take a closer look at the mysterious workings of a traditional kabuki stage.

Izushi History Museum (closed Tuesdays)
The Izushi History Museum is housed in the former residence of the Fukutomi family, wealthy merchants who traded raw silk and cast metal products.
Visitors can discover historical documents, samurai armor, and relics during a walk through the main building, annex, and storehouse.
