Sasazuru is a sake brewing company that has had roots in Izushi Castle Town since 1708.
While the outside appearance of the storehouse is well-known amongst locals for its six-layer soil walls (built from soil in Izushi), upon entering the shop visitors will be greeted with the smell of sake and a retro, old-world charm.
The local sake from Sasazuru is proudly on display alongside decorated sake containers used for large celebrations.
Some of the sake kegs from Sasazuru can be found at Eirakukan Kabuki Theater, as was the custom to celebrate with sake after a performance.
