ACCOMMODATIONS Reyzenit Kinosaki

The reviews here seem a bit harsh. Yes the exterior needs a good hose down before summer and the rooms look dated, but the villa was huge and spotlessly clean, the beds and linen comfy, the facilities in good working order and the staff lovely. My non-pet and non-smoking room had none of the offensive odours that others have complained about. It reminded me of childhood beach holiday motels or staying at my Grandparents house. The view is phenomenal and is the true draw card though.

It’s 1600¥ for a taxi to the train station or home, so do factor that in if you are out for dinner. If you just feel like a lazy day in your room then the hotel baths are amazing. If you are fitness minded, I can recommend the 4.1km run across the pedestrian bridge and along the water to Kounoyo Onsen at the top of town. Recovering there was the best.

All in all, I’d stay here again.

The Reyzenit Kinosaki Suite Villas are off the beaten path if you want to be close to the Onsens - it is about 10/15 minutes by bus/taxi. However, the area is beautiful and quiet. We walked across the bridge and were mesmerized by the mountains and waterways. With that said, the hotel and grounds have seen better days. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with kitchenette but no cooking or dishware. The pool was closed despite being in the 90s. They offer limited transportation to the train station, which is super helpful. Otherwise, you need to catch a public bus or taxi. Food options are limited, and restaurants in town close early, so plan ahead.

The villas are so big can accommodate 5〜7 people, all basic stuffs are available.
The staffs were so friendly and helpful.

Nice spacious rooms though nothing extraordinary. For me the location was not ideal (need a bus trip or a 50 mins walk from the town), so best to book this with an agency that arranges a whole trip unless you plan to stay mostly at the resort.
