This place was outstanding. It was so absolutely brilliant that I am compelled to write this - my first ever review. I’ve written negative reviews before, but if something is good or great even, I don’t write a review because I figure well they’ve done what they ought to have done.

Let me tell you, this hotel and their staff went over and beyond in their customer service, warmth and genuine care, I would rate them 10 starts out of 5 if I could.

Kinosaki is a town over run by tourists and you feel it in most of the local Japanese, but somehow the people in this establishment have not caught that sentiment. They are beyond welcoming. My husband is visually impaired and they were so kind to him.

From getting us unscheduled shuttles into town, or rushing after us to give us kids cutlery, or giving us fresh towels for our second day of onsen hopping, or entertaining our kid with feeding the fish or showing the birds outside, it was all amazing.

I want to make special mention of a particular man who welcomed us (ran across the car park actually to whisk away our bags). Whenever he saw him he was all smiles, eager to please, had his translator app on the ready to proactively show us things and see what we needed. It wasn’t just us, it was to every guest. This man needs a pay rise. I think it was Mr Miya.

This review is getting long and you’ll read about other things elsewhere but I found the onsen here better than in town. It was open air, peaceful and had all toiletries. The foot massagers after the onsen were heaven for our tired feet. The cabbage rolls and dimsum at breakfast were our pick. And the free snacks on arrival in our room were high quality. Oh and those views ! So much to love.

I think Kinosaki town is cute and quaint, but it’s not the town I would come back for, it’s the hotel. I would happily stay in this hotel for a week. We stayed May 17 2026.

Amazing experience and what a view. The hospitality and service are fantastic. The hotel offers so many amenities. It was very interesting to learn about the cranes from the staff. They even have a live stream of the cranes nest

This place was amazing! We stayed here for 2 nights and couldn't be happier.

First off, Kinosaki Onsen is an amazing little town. Fun to walk around, wonderful people, amazing food and really nice Onsens.

This hotel is in a great location just outside the main area but still only a short walk to the main area where the public baths are.

The staff here were absolutely amazing! Even though their English is limited and our Japanese was non existent, they still did their best to accommodate and explain everything!

We want to give a special mention to Miss Kayo, Mr Miya and Miss Gurund for their help and wonderful service during our stay, we really appreciated everything. Miss Kayo is so great and helped us a lot, as did the others.

The Onsen at the property is also very nice, very convenient to have.

Breakfast was also great, many options and everything was delicious and high quality.

We had the crab dinner for 2 people on our last night at the hotel and it was absolutely amazing. The best dinner experience we've ever had. It was a traditional style dinner where you sit on the floor and had so much food. Our server Gurund was amazing and helpful.

We are really going to miss this place and will be back sometime again.

Our stay in Kinosaki Onsen was made even more special thanks to Mr Miya, whose hospitality truly stood out. Even with the language barrier, he was incredibly warm, patient, and thoughtful in guiding us throughout our visit.

From the moment we checked in, Mr Miya made sure we understood everything clearly, onsen etiquette, dining times, local tips, and how to make the most of our passes. His kindness shone through in every interaction, and we always felt supported and welcomed.

What impressed us most was how genuinely he cared about our comfort. Whether it was helping us navigate the town, assisting with small requests, or simply checking in with a friendly smile, Mr Miya made our experience smooth and memorable.

We’re deeply grateful for the exceptional service and heart he put into his work. Thanks to Mr Miya, our trip to Kinosaki Onsen became a highlight we’ll always remember.

Our visit to Kinosaki Onsen was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to Mr Miya, the amazing hotel manager who took care of us from the moment we arrived. Despite the language barrier, Mr Miya went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout our stay.

He patiently explained everything, from how to use the onsen passes to local recommendations, using simple English, gestures, and even drawings when needed. His warmth made us feel instantly at home, and his attention to detail made the entire experience seamless.

Whether it was helping with our luggage, making sure we understood the available amenities, taxi-ing us at odd timings, recommending food options or checking in on us with a genuine smile, Mr Miya’s kindness truly elevated our stay. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated and sincere.

We left Kinosaki Onsen feeling incredibly grateful. If you’re visiting, you’ll be lucky to be welcomed by Mr Miya. He is the heart of the hotel, and he made our trip absolutely memorable.

I haven't even left the hotel yet, but can't wait to give it 5 stars. They absolutely nailed the food service. Strongly recommend the crab dinner, which is undoubtedly fantastic. The amount of food they feed you is stunning. The view of the room is fabulous. The onsen is warm and cozy. One of the most unforgettable experience I've ever had.

Recommend this stay over the others, priced at a good value. the 2 onsens within is very nice. i prefer them than the public bathhouses. onsen will swap gender on alternate days so you get to try both. location is near the canal at the edge but comes with views which other accomms in the middle of town wont have. service staff is very friendly as well. provided vehicle service to the ropeway and also to train station. private toilet available via request (located outside room with private key access). last timing for onsen before checkout is 9.30am.

I stayed here with my family over the summer . The rooms were super spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The view from my room was beautiful as it overlooked the garden. The breakfast was a buffet and there were both Japanese and western styles. The dinner was absolutely amazing. Each person had their own food and it had multiple courses. The staff were incredibly friendly and worked with us when we went to check in. The staff was very proactive, always asking us if we needed a shuttle bus or asking us how our day was. There was one person that remembered that we were going to make soba and asked us how it was when we got back to the hotel.

Very nice breakfast buffet (western and Japanese). The staff was very friendly and used to dealing with international guests. Our room was big, well furnished and new. The big beds were a nice break from sleeping on the floor all the time (Japanese rooms with futon were also available).
Highlight: a couple of storks with chicks were nesting in a tower set up for that purpose in the garden. We could watch them from the onsen and a special live feed on a screen in the lobby.

One of the most welcoming experiences I’ve had. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helpful, and kind. We used Google translate and didn’t have a problem communicating through the language barrier. The room we stayed in was lovely with a riverside view that included a view of a stork with 2 babies which was amazing to see. They laid out our futons for all 3 of us in our room and drove us to one of the further onsens. They also provided yukatas for us to wear and breakfast in the morning. The staff members were extremely caring and I cannot express how much they made us feel welcomed.

Thank you for the short but pleasent stay. Even though the building doesn't look like the newest one, the interieur, service, kindness, hospitality, breakfast, onsen and the room with its view to the garden exceeded our expectations by far!
I would totally recommend this hotel and unfortunately we had to leave after one night, because of our tight schedule, otherwise we would have stayed a little longer!

Do book the riverside rooms for a spectacular view. Dinner was amazing especially the quantity of food which was really a pleasant surprise. Last but not least the Star of our stay was the service ! Special shout out to Mr Miyaguchi who went above his duty to ensure my pleasant stay with his kind hospitality!

I stayed here one night last summer. The room is big enough for 4 people with riverside view. The dinner is great, especially the sashimi, beef and rice. Buffet breakfast is served with many eggs (local egg is very famous :>)

The location is a bit far away from the train station and the onsen street but this area is more quiet. I could even listen to the bird sound when I enjoyed the onsen in the morning.

The hotel also offers free passes to another 7 "outer" onsens and coupons for its own gift shop. I bought 3 packets of red bean rice cakes as souvenirs. Tasty!

A great place to stay and relax. Walkable distances from station to hotel. A great crab cuisine for dinner which made you full up. You can have dinner in room which made you feel comfortable and privacy.

Kinosaki has seven public bath, so this hotel's private bath is not so big, but enough. good foods , especially breakfast. good location. warm people.
