Eirakukan, a historic kabuki theater, serves as one of the main venues for the Toyooka Theater Festival. This year, renowned contemporary theater director Hideto Iwai presents an acclaimed production featuring leading actors from across Japan.
In this unique performance, actors take part in a live script reading using a text they are seeing for the very first time. Audiences can witness how highly skilled professionals build a performance from scratch in real time.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for international visitors, AI-powered translation glasses are provided, allowing you to follow the performance without language barriers. The program also includes a backstage tour, where you can explore the traditional manual rotating stage system beneath the theater.
Please note that this tour is part of a pilot program for future festival development, and participation in a post-tour survey is required.
