In July 2026, the Kinosaki area celebrated the grand opening of Rakuten STAY TERRACE Kinosaki Riverside, an apartment-style accommodation facing the scenic Maruyama River on the way to central Kinosaki Onsen.
Developed by the Japanese company Rakuten Group, Rakuten STAY accommodations carefully combine the appealing privacy of a vacation rental with the hospitality of a traditional hotel.

How can I get to Rakuten STAY TERRACE Kinosaki Riverside?

The best way to arrive is via local buses run by Zentan Bus. The closest bus stop near Rakuten STAY TERRACE is called Ueyama 上山 Bus Stop right next to the building.
Buses run from both Toyooka Station and Kinosaki Onsen Station to 上山 Bus Stop.
The ride from Toyooka Station to Ueyama 上山 Bus Stop is approximately 15 minutes, and Kinosaki Onsen Station to Ueyama 上山 Bus Stop is about 10 minutes one way.

*As of August 2026, guests checking out of Rakuten STAY TERRACE at 10:00 can catch the 10:06 bus from Ueyama 上山 Bus Stop to Toyooka Station (WEEKDAYS ONLY). A 10:20 bus from Uyama Bus Stop to Kinosaki Onsen Station is also available everyday.

Genbudo Park
Accessible via boat from Genbudo Station, this park is home to the five beautiful basalt caves with over 1.6 million years of geological history.
Genbudo Park was designated in 1931 as a National Natural Monument by the Japanese Government due to their significant role in the discovery of reverse magnetization, and the impressive caves are also part of the San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark.

Hachigoro Toshima Wetlands
An easy bike ride from Kinosaki Onsen, Hachigoro Toshima Wetlands is a prime birdwatching area for Oriental White Storks, one of Japan’s national natural treasures.
Near the mountains visitors can see Oriental White Storks living in an artificial nest at the top of a nesting tower each spring.
Hachigoro Toshima Wetlands is located approximately 1.5km from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station. To get there visitors can walk (about 20min), ride a bicycle, or drive.
