Safety Tips

Control & Speed
Always stay in control and be ready to stop or avoid people and objects at any time.
Take it Easy
Know your limits. Rest when you are tired.
Stopping & Going
Stop at the side of the trail, where you are visible to people uphill.
Look uphill before moving and when entering a trail.
Equipment Safety
Snowboarders must use a leash (safety strap) with their board.
Boards and skiis should be stored upright in designated areas or bindings down so they do not slide away.
Signs & Boundary Lines
Obey all safety signs and do not cross boundary lines.
Play Areas
Play only in designated areas. Skiing and snowboarding is not permitted in designated play areas.
Riding the Lift
1. Prepare
Check for loose clothing, backpacks, or other articles that might snag on the lift. Skiers - remove ski pole straps from wrists and hold poles in one hand.
Snowboarders - undo one foot from your binding and skate up to the lift.
2. Look & Load
Stand forward and look behind you for the approaching chair. Grab the pole or back of the lift chair with one hand to help you sit. Sit children between adults when possible. Adults should lift smaller children up and sit them far back on the chair.
3. Bar
Lower safety bar promptly after sitting on chair. Keep bar down until indicated at the top of the lift. Some lifts may not have a bar.
4. Unload & Move
Once at the top of the lift keep your ski and board tip up, raise the bar when indicated, stand, and safely unload. Move away from the ramp area quickly, never block the unloading zone.
