Since 2007, the farming village of Tanto southeast of Kinosaki Onsen has welcomed visitors every summer to view the various rice field art installments found throughout the town.
Local residents come together every year to decide, and eventually plant, the unique designs in Tanto’s rice fields.
*The locations of the art installments vary by year. Please check our events page for the most updated information regarding the yearly rice field art installments.
Past designs include Hyogo Prefecture’s Mascot Habutan, Toyooka City’s mascot Gen-san, and the Oriental White Stork, a national natural treasure found in Toyooka.
